Raman systems
Raman Spectroscopy is a non-destructive chemical analysis technique that enables chemical identification and verification, as well as screening. The substance molecules interact with the light photons from a laser in the near infrared range. The laser light interacts with molecular vibrations, phonons or other excitations in the system, resulting in the energy of the laser photons being shifted up or down, called as inelastic scattering, or Raman scattering, of monochromatic light. The shift in energy gives information about the vibrational modes in the system and the resulting spectral read-out is like a molecular fingerprint. It is unique to the specific substance and it is called the Raman spectrum.
We are proud to be able to offer the widest range of Raman instruments for applications from cutting edge/high demand research through to routine QC lab analysis and production environments. With Thermo Scientific Raman instruments, including the latest DXR3 Family of Raman instruments, you can use Raman spectroscopy, microscopy, and imaging that quickly creates research grade images giving viewers instant information on the chemical, structural and elemental characteristics of their sample.
